Taps on Main
Taps on Main is a Kansas City sports bar that needed a site as direct as the brand itself — no hedging, no filler, just the menu, the beer wall, and a reason to show up on game day. The build covered a full brand system, an Untappd-integrated beer wall, and a World Cup 2026 watch party page built to drive foot traffic during the tournament.
The Project at a Glance
Industry: Restaurant / sports bar
Location: Kansas City, MO
Platform: Squarespace 7.1
Focus: Brand system, menu and beer wall integration, event-driven landing pages
The Challenge
A sports bar's website has one real job: get people in the door on the right night. That meant the site needed to make game-day information impossible to miss, showcase the beer selection in a way that actually updates (rather than a static PDF menu nobody trusts), and look as bold and direct as the bar itself feels in person.
The Approach
The brand system uses a confident, no-nonsense visual identity — Alfa Slab One and Gilroy typography paired with a Tap Gold palette that reads as bar, not generic restaurant template. Copy throughout follows the same direct, specific tone: no hedging, let the numbers and the schedule speak for themselves.
Key Features We Built
A live, Untappd-integrated beer wall so the tap list is always current
A dedicated World Cup 2026 watch party page with Event schema for search visibility
Sticky section navigation so visitors can jump straight to menu, events, or hours
Beginner-friendly client handover training, so the Taps on Main team can update events and specials without calling a developer
The Result
A site built around the two things that actually drive a sports bar's foot traffic — what's on tap right now, and what's on the screen tonight — with a brand system bold enough to match the room.
FAQ
Q: How much does a Squarespace website cost for a restaurant or bar?
It depends on integrations like menu embeds or beer wall syncing, but a full brand-and-build project like this typically runs in the low-to-mid thousands, with a fast turnaround compared to custom development.
Q: Can Squarespace integrate with tools like Untappd for a live beer menu?
Yes — with the right embed setup, a Squarespace site can pull in live data like a tap list, keeping the menu accurate without manual updates.
Q: Does Chikara Digital train clients to update their own site after launch?
Yes — every build includes handover training so the client's team can manage events, specials, and day-to-day updates independently after launch.
